Neurodivergence is a relatively new creation and has been turbocharged by social media, before we just used to call it 'being alive'. However, anxiety is almost certainly part environmental. We're in the late stages of capitalism and everyone knows this either consciously or subconsciously, the status quo cannot continue, AI is banging on the door, the Western Liberal democracies have never looked so wobbly, there's plenty to be anxious about.

Cars didn't increase the number of psychopaths and serial killers, but probably did make them harder to find. Hard to be a serial killer on foot, the police will find you. If you can drive though, the US is your oyster. Right observation, wrong conclusion. Single mothers also not to blame, though the breakdown of the family unit probably did contribute significantly, if only because half the number of parents were available for meeting the needs of children with a genetic disposition towards either sociopathy or psychopathy.
