My comment on the tone was more it's presented as 'fuck off and don't discuss this any further - I have all the answers'. I may write with confidence but I also write to be engaged with and disagreed with.

You know this, because a lot of the time it's you. I want people to debate me further and I welcome it and enjoy it. Elle has the same sort of ivory tower tone I've had to challenge in some of the Consultant Psychs at my work. They know a lot, but they'll rarely examine anything they're doing or saying any further than referring back to their own expertise and that, as far as they are concerned, is the end of the matter.
