Of course they aren’t making up the race issues of the 1960s, but there are multifaceted ways to explore the subject matter of racism. ‘Get Out’ did it very well, I think a TV show about the 1960s centred on the life of young people would likely be very interesting. I’m not sure why they’ve chosen to reboot an existing programme - I can’t see the benefit of doing so other than to create controversy and to ensure said controversy sells to a predominantly white woke audience who want to pat themselves on the back. As I said before, it looks like it could be unnecessarily divisive and I would prefer to simply have high quality drama in the style of Bridgerton which breaks down racial niches rather than endorses them - that’s just me though, everyone is entitled to their own views on the matter.
