Partly yes. I assumed telling a Black writer their views on racism were too simplistic would be viewed as an act of racism (though I disagree) - as this seems to be the thrust of the article.

And I assumed this would hold true regardless of whether my own race is disclosed or not…. Because what usually happens is the conversation moves to ‘perpetuating whiteness’ - this allows EVERYONE to be accused of racism regardless of skin colour and can also include Black folks who don’t agree with you.

Happy to have my assumptions proven wrong.
