Perhaps at first. But as print media is discovering, and I think is intuitive - unless you’re offering people interesting things and not just things they already think, you get a drop off. Medium needs readers AND writers producing good content from across the spectrum - if the ‘give people what they want’ model worked then the Medium Publication era would’ve been far more successful than it was - and we’d all just be in a Jessica Valenti newsletter by now. The current model might just take us back there the long way round.
