Personally? No. But then I think the root cause of violent protest is the thing that needs addressing. Ostensibly in this case that is race relations - but I don't believe that to be the case. When you have people like Rosenbaum on the front line, they're not really interested in the reasons for protest - they just want to protest and burn things.

For me at least, the answer seems quite simple. Redistribute wealth to where it is most needed. Front line mental health facilities, social workers, healthcare, addiction facilities and stop throwing it into a prison system with high rates of recidivism and police officers whose job gets harder year on year but whose public approval continues to plummet.

Without understanding why America is generating furiously angry people - and then guaranteeing them the right to be armed because of a 220 year old document, you won't solve the problem. You'll have more people arming up and more widespread violence. There will be a turning point, a spark moment in the whole tinderbox unless the problem is properly addressed. It's not race. it's not protecting property. It's about the national psychology.
