Potentially of course - it depends on whether or not I'm black or mixed race, information you don't have. That's the problem isn't it? In order for you to 'win' this discussion, I have to be white.... or at least 'white adjacent'. If it turns out I'm Black then my racism is no longer racist.... it could be internalised racism of course and that'd be okay because then I'd be 'perpetuating whiteness' - but I'd be doing that as a Black man, woman or other who disagrees with you. That's how it works. Everyone agrees with Howard or their either racist, racist-adjacent or perpetuating racism because of internalised white paternalism.

You sure can accuse racists of being racist.... but here's the thing with language. The word 'racist' gets to mean whatever the person using it wants it to mean - and the danger of letting people throw the word around all over the place the way you're doing is it soon ceases to mean anything. If everything is racist then nothing is..... and in a world where everything is racist because everyone who disagrees with Howard is de-facto racist, we either have to subscribe to your worldview or accept the label. I disagree with you in the same way I disagreed with the OP, disagreement is not oppression. It's simply disagreement.

So yes, you can accuse whomever you like of being racist - but you're the one who keeps reminding everyone of the colour of everyone's skin and who needs to know the colour of mine in order for their argument to remain cogent.

I continue, as always, to be a Penguin. :o)
