Privilege is about all those things. You seem to be under the impression that I'm arguing for the continuation of the status quo. I'm not. Social change is long overdue and necessary - but woke activism isn't the way to achieve it. Socialism minus identity politics is the way to do it. All the latter does is slow down the rate of change, and in many cases push the moderate centre ground towards the willing embrace of the right wing.

You can see it happening. The more obscure the discussions become, the more people switch off. As an example.... the question of 'should trans people have a place in society' is very easily answered. Of course they should! A pluralistic society can and should welcome people from all walks of life. And generally society does. It moves left. Every generation is usually more progressive than the generation before.

But the question of whether children should be given puberty blockers. That is a totally different question. One for scientists, paediatricians, trans-people and the law courts to work out slowly and carefully. Continually labelling anyone who asked for more consideration as a 'Transphobe' was a miscalculation by woke people. Serious matters require careful thought. Woke doesn't encourage that, it enjoys pile ons, cancel culture, making money in echo chambers and simple answers to complex problems.
