Public accusation is likely working against the overall thrust of where the discussion needs to be centred. I am sure in most instances the accusers are telling the truth - but when you set up a society in which truth is at the point of utterance and not at the point of proof, you set up a guilty until proven innocent system.

A backlash against this direction of travel will be (and has been) fierce... so whilst I agree with you that there needs to be something. This isn't the something we're looking for. Longer term it'll do more damage than good for rebalancing the society into something more productive - and I think we're already seeing that in action.
