Reading the responses to your story helped remind me why I became a penguin writer on Medium. You're far too easily dismissed by your identity for those who want to use it against you. How dare you, a white woman, write with clarity about a complicated issue and make valid points. Your very valid points were thrown out the second you made them on the grounds that you're not oppressed enough.

I agree with some of this article, but not all of it. It continues to label other groups as part of the problem - without acknowledging that the inherent psychological effect of grouping people by characteristics ends in a power struggle that nobody wins. Society is caught in a woeful 'ism-off' that continually weaponises subjective experiences and undermines objective progress in any direction.

You're both deriding the game and playing it. The main difference between the left and the right, is that the right generally don't play. That's why you're right about female leaders - the UK had its first right wing female Prime Miniter in 1979 whilst the Left Wing Labour Party has yet to even elect a female leader 40 years later.
