SC is often a balancing force on my work - I tend to err on the side of over permissiveness and laissez faire at points. I am an old fashioned liberal after all, but she’s been reading me for years and plays devils advocate, usually opening up more comments and more conversation. She’s certainly more anti-men than I am - and occasionally meanders into misandry lite.

That said, it would be churlish of me to be unwelcoming to critique, I am a keen fan of reasonable debate and she is never rude or insulting. If her points resonate with others (and they do) then you men have got work to do. What seems reasonable to you doesn’t seem reasonable to her, what seems like misandry to you seems like reasonable rebuttal to her, there’s ground to cover here.

More worrying for me was the applauding of Babycakes, someone who brought nothing to, offered nothing of substance and was rude from the get go. I sent him/her packing with the snarktillery but I see that attitude as far more problematic and sadly on medium far more widespread than anything SC brings. :o)
