See my article on the overuse and incorrect application of the term 'gaslight' https://medium.com/lucid-nightmare/gaslight-gaslight-why-am-i-gaslit-everywhere-i-go-c9280a0a3b37

I suspect she did grow up in the late 70s and early 80s in Glasgow, based on what I've inferred about her age. Whether she attended University or not I don't know, you'll have to take that up with her.

Once again, I have no problem with pointing out that the system is out of balance and disproporitionately favours white men. I'm saying that it doesn't help for a predominantly middle-class BIPOC writer to argue they're subjugated by someone who is white and working class, whilst the former may see the world in terms of abstract inter-racial difference, the latter likely sees the arguments as economic. In short, you can argue Oprah Winfrey benefits from less privilege than a homeless white guy (and I'd agree with you) - but you're going to have a hard job convincing the homeless guy.

Extrapolate those arguments out across the whole social strata and you'll see the demos shift to the right rather than the left. You wonder why Labour lost the north? Labout got caught up in london centric identity politics at the expense of it's economic base - something the Tory party are now very keen to exploit.
