Sorry!!! Alas, I think the diagramming sentences was an American thing. I was taught very little English Grammar at school, just the absolute basics. This is despite the fact I went to a grammar school.

I would imagine English grammar is taught more comprehensively in other countries than it is here. Almost all of my grammar knowledge comes from studying French. :o/
