Starmer is smart enough not to reserve Brexit. He’s been very clear that he won’t reverse Brexit. He has no plans to reverse Brexit. Doesn’t mean he won’t push for greater ties to the EU trading bloc, attempt bilateral arrangements around goods and services and make bespoke deals about free movement. I cannot stress enough this is not reversing Brexit. The people have spoken and Brexit is not to be reversed… of course, it was never really defined in the first place was it? So it can’t be reversed; but new plans can be made.
This is a government of smart people making smart choices. The prog left won’t agree with all of it - but you can’t bring in left wing reform from running a perpetual shadow cabinet.
I have not been disappointed thus far
