Tbh I’m not sure, but my gut feeling is that greek and then Roman cultural myths have the world beginning as heaven (Uranus) having sex with Gaia (Earth) and having a son (Chronos). I suspect that’s why we have Mother Earth and Father Time etymologically speaking.
