Thanks for this snarky response, I did read the story... and I have further questions. Is 'mother' really a gendered term? Does it mean the 'female parent' or does it mean 'the person who bore the child' - which admittedly up to now has often been female.

If we're going to play linguistic fuckduggery then shouldn't we think a bit more about it. If this were a gay couple, neither of them would be able to bear the child. Should the mother be 'the surrogate' or do we want to move towards a behavioural descriptor that encompasses other things?

Don't presume because you disagree with my comment that I didn't read the story to which it pertains. Or, as you would've put it, Tell me you can't construct an argument, without typing "I can't construct an argument"
