That depends on whether you consider the status quo to be neutral.... which in a true liberal democracy I think it probably is. The status quo being a gradual shifting leftwards across the demographic. I am loathe to throw all the parties run by rich people out of the boat too quickly, because parties run by poor people can go autocratic. See my previous article on the Far Right/Far Left. I think we need to have a better and stronger centre ground, able to minimise collective suffering and rebalance the economic scales without being dragged into what's popular/expedient.
