That film is awesome! I watched it this morning - what a great little find. It sounds like there's a great deal about music I don't understand but it is an interesting study in how creativity works in practice and why the idea of cultural appropriation so pernicious and spiteful. THOTRS is a great song and I love it has such a fun and funky history :o)
