That is the problem we're all facing. I guess that's about writing in multiple topics and hoping for Boosts. I rarely get boosted (too controversial and opinionated - and I'm not an expert in anything) so my earnings have tanked - but that's by the by, I'm still enjoying myself. Medium is currently in an 'experts' phase, meaning a lot of things I'm offered (whilst interesting) are quite dull to read. You've got to go off the beaten track to find the things you want. :o)
