That remark isn't even slightly shocking if you watch the video (and I did) - he's giving a comedy interview with Eric Idle and performing for the crowd. I suppose you could argue it's in bad taste or isn't nice - but that's entirely subjective and down to your taste in humour - the studio audience and presenter seem to be enjoying it.
