That’s a false equivalency. Economic policy is a totally different issue from the Cuomo situation. An argumentative sleight or hand that says… he won’t do THIS but he did do THAT, when those two things aren’t objectively linked.
And, from what you’ve suggested, the President has suggested waiting for an official investigation rather than accepting prima facie evidence to base his decision. Seems like a good plan to me. It’s based on law, it’s based on the principles of justice – and as you’ve pointed out, with a nod-nod-wink-wink dog whistle, he’s been accused of sexual assault before.
That accusation fell away after an investigation and all it did was destabilise the political process. Endorsing a ‘prima facie’ approach, would mean absolutely anyone could make an accusation against anyone else and be certain they’d be fired. I don’t know what you’d call the result of that, but I’d call it a clusterfuck.
Biden is right. You are wrong. Cuomo should go if/when his guilt is established. That’s a sensible moderate and centre ground position to take. You just don’t like it.
