That’s absolutely fine because my penguin position is crafted from being a very very liberal sort of bird. I don’t expect my more conservative or even moderate readers to go with me on this one, it’s just how I’ve elected to interpret the social change and make the language work for me.

I don’t think we can define ‘woman’ - that’s where fourth wave feminism is pushing us. If women and men are equal in the law and can be considered the same and we’re pushing non-binary space between the two, then ‘man’ and ‘woman’ as descriptors become as meaningless as ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’.
