That's exactly it. You cannot solve the problem of racism by focussing the conversation on race. Implying anyone who points this out 'is racist' doesn't solve the problem either. The binary underpinning the us/them mentality is reinforced by both the racist and the anti-racist alike. People immediately polarise to either end, with most people going to 'the good' side to protect their sense of certainty and fragile sense of self and ego.
It's the same process we saw across the 20th Century with Naziism and Communism. Away from a moral centre-ground, most people will opt into a more certain system they believe is 'good', often unconsciously. It is only when this system of belief is viewed in its entirety and retrospectively does the whole thing seem questionable and people slap their hands to their foreheads and exclaim 'fuuuuuck'.
I firmly believe many of the race writers on this platform (and beyond) are steadily making things worse for the very people they profess to support- they don't see it like that of course. The self won't allow it and very quickly the far less sophisticated groupthink takes over.
