That’s like saying all killing IS murder. Some killing is murder. Some killing is accidental. Both are harmful, but intent is different.

This gets to the heart of the problem - if you treat everything as deliberate harm then you paint everyone as malevolent. This means two things…

1. You can’t distinguish between malevolence and confusion. If this is the case all trans people will only see malevolence everywhere and that’s the quickest way to cause psychological harm to yourself.

2. You alienate moderates who CAN distinguish between the two and get rapidly pissed off with the batshit ideological posturing.

And that’s what this article is about. Those who can distinguish and those caught in an ideological echo chamber.
