That's right, they are - but that doesn't mean we can't socially re-engineer away from the blueprint. Society has done this in the past, at one stage our ancestors harnassed fire after a billion or so years of being deathly terrified of it. Now we wear trousers and have opera. Cultures are malleable and our mating rituals may be in desperate need of an overhaul. :o)
