The author told you in no uncertain terms that he repeatedly voted for women’s rights. He then explained very carefully why he (like me) occupies a space closer to ‘gender egalitarian’ and has distanced himself from ‘feminism’ because it can’t distinguish men who support equality from men who don’t and attacking all men. Despite being very clear about these things - you came in basically to suggest his position is stupid, ostensibly because he’s a man and you didn’t like what he had to say.

At some point there’s enough irony in the room that it moves into parody. This was perilously close.
