The older I get, the more I think many of the problems are exacerbated by groupings. You know my feelings on identity issues anyway - and whilst I would say it isn't women driving men into the manosphere, or blacks driving whites into the KKK - I would like to suggest that perhaps groupings are unhelpful and we should be considering both individuality and universality more closely. What drives PEOPLE to extremes tends to be group-think or subjugation. I don't think women are driving men into the mano sphere but I do think groups of women identifying as empowered is responsible in some ways. In much the same way that men grouping women together for subjugation gave rise to first wave feminism. If we choose groupthink as a social construct then we're going to be constantly in this competitive balancing act between groups.
Long story short. Glad I'm a Penguin. :o)
