The problem comes when you try to define ‘women’ and what that word actually means. Does it mean what you want it to mean, or does it mean what someone else wants it to mean? Is it a biological reality or a social construct - or some defined space in between?

If you assert your right to refer to women as women - then I’d argue you need to define it. If you can’t define it, then the linguistic trickery has to come out. If trans-women are women and you’re okay with that, what do you do with people who don’t believe trans-women are women? Who gets the correct definition?

I’m afraid I’ve hedged it. I have no problem with pregnant men or women with penises. I simply view such people as female men and male women. It isn’t a perfect fix, it may get me cancelled but I think we have words for biological reality and social construct.
