The problem here is the implied Kafka Trap that comes with being a female feminist rather than a male feminist. In some cases it’s difficult to distinguish what is a genuine push towards equality and what isn’t - some issues are complicated.
When you say ‘any man (or woman) who disagrees or questions anything a feminist says must be a patriarchal oppressor’ - what you’re effectively doing is shutting off the right to reply. Now, you may be right - and in many cases you almost certainly will be.
But #NotAllFeminists have the same views. In the same way there are men who push for equality and men who would rather rape and burn women - there are also women who aren’t interested in equality and whose entire motivation is the hatred of men. Some may have good reason…. But a KafkaTrap empowers the radicals.
I don’t think that feminists hate men - because I think the majority would like to build a better world for both sexes and have a genuine push for equality’s But I think it’s naive to suggest that no women hate men - and I think it’s also very likely those women are standing under the banner of feminism enjoying the protective KafkaTraps laid out with the sole purpose of silencing dissent from men and women who disagree. Sex traitors.
That’s why I don’t identify as a feminist anymore. I’m committed to gender egalitarianism but I won’t be using that label - because it’s also used by people acting in bad faith against the stated aims of equality and fairness. Looks like feminism, smells like feminism, is actually misandry.
This entire comment can now be dismissed using the Patriarchy KafkaTrap you set up in the article. Neat huh?
