The problem here isn't that men are accused by women, it is the manner in which those accusations are done. If what you're after is equality under the law then the reforms have to be made to the legal system, you cannot bypass the legal system and assert guilt in the public sphere. This flies against what legal justice is and how societies function. People aren't voicing support for the men, they're voicing support for due process under the law - as it stands this is because the law favours men. THAT is where the argument needs to be made.

Investigations into sexual misconduct should be handled by the police and specialists courts - and should be funded properly so that they can be thoroughly investigated. if there are multiple allegations made by multiple people then this will make prosecution more likely. Absolutely NONE of this should play out over social media and/or in the public sphere. The accusations made and both accusers and victims should be anonymous - just because the public are interested in it does not mean it is in the public interest. The fame of either the accuser or the accused should not feature.... because for every Harvey Weinstein you'll get a Johnny Depp.

Feminism has taken a solid misstep by focusing efforts on public accusation instead of lobbying for changes to the legal system. The first is easy to do (but will face huge resistance from men) the second is slower but will actually lead to a position of eventual equity and justice.

I cover some of those thoughts in more detail here. https://medium.com/p/f528e3db67d9
