The Stormy Daniels case and probably cases about tax evasion should have been ready to go to indictment the second he left office and the protective mechanisms of the Presidency.

Trump is perhaps a one man show, but he's also a very good blueprint. The issue with DeSantis is that he's pretending to be Trump, you can feel the insincerity in that shouting.... you need someone with the sheer strength of belief a narcissist has. This is the magic ingredient... most dictators have it. The Nazi Party under Goering or Himmler doesn't work - because people believe in belief.

I don't think he should've got away with it either, the indictment for criminal charges relating to his campaign (Daniels etc) should've come the second he left office. Charges relating to his post-presidential shennaningans should be acknowledged, discussed and then withheld pending his run for Presidency 2.0. Doing the indictment int he middle of the Presidency may bring out the rational voters and see Biden in for a second term, but it may also whip up his home support and give him the platform he needs to deny all the charges.
