Everyone gets to make an equal choice about their participation. It's far more upfront about its transactional nature and in a liberal nation state, you can't ask for much more.

That's far more feminist and arguably equal than 'to love, honour and obey', being walked down the aisle by your father and the virginal white dress that occupies mountains and mountains of magazine editorials. If you want to really deconstruct toxic outmoded models of gender inequality, start with the historic state of marriage and see the legacy it has left across both history and the modern world. Whilst we're debating the merits of whether adult women should be able to make an informed transactional choice (regardless of their attractiveness) we still have the issue of child brides elsewhere in the world.
