The trick is to apply for jobs you’re overqualified for. At the moment I am in a job two levels below my expertise (I have done my boss’ boss job before). This means two things. I can do the work they give me very quickly, I’m indispensable because, when push comes to shove they know I can help them out of a difficult piece of paperwork or a presn

People who think about employment in terms of total wages and salary instead of wage per hour think I’m insane, they keep telling me I should be promoted, the company keep trying to move me into more managerial positions and I keep refusing. I have a good wage to time ratio, my writing also bumps up my salary and my life is great. Is it lazy? Possibly. I think I’m working smarter not harder and my side hustle income grows year after year.

The downside I suppose is that you have to become an expert in something very quickly. Pick your sector wisely. :o)
