The way we use it isn't gender specific, the word as an original noun was gender specific back in the days of yore, but now as an adjective we throw it around pretty much at anyone. It's not a word a lot of older people like and it's still considered 'the worst swear word' but amongst younger people it's become flexibly used... 'any of you cunts want a drink?' would be a perfectly acceptable thing to hear on a stag do most places in the UK.

I think there's a valid argument that bald is a neutral term, but the case can be made it highlights a particular insecurity for men and was arguably used that way. A lot of men worry about going bald or being bald, there's a whole industry built around and this was likely the argument the ex-employee made to the tribunal. His hair had nothing to do with his condition of employment - and the supervisor could've used any descriptor. You tall cunt, you short cunt, you stupid cunt, you annoying cunt - the fact the supervisor picked 'bald' is what caused the problem.
