Theatre is a little different than movies - but many theatre pieces become movies anyway. Could be argued that Hamilton is a musical biopic - are white folks allowed to be offended by it or not? And with the Christmas Eve question, either the representation of asians is offensive because of the way it's written - or it isn't. Having an asian actor 'in on the joke' doesn't make it any more or less offensive. It could be argued asking an Asian actor to put on a thick Asian accent is a far more offensive thing to do than someone else doing it. It might feel more offensive but the problem is in the role.

And that musical is subversive anyway. As they point out very well, everyone is a little bit racist sometimes. A message is seemingly lost on the consistent mental gymnastics required to stay on top of what is offensive and what isn't. If your problem is with people of other races taking on a stereotypical appearance of a race they don't share - then this must apply universally. No Christmas Eve and no Alexander Hamilton.
