Then are you happy for men to fight for men's issues first? And if that is the case, how do you expect progress to happen in any meaningful way? And also, what resources? Nobody asked you to campaign on behalf of conscripted men - but what I commented on was a total lack of feminist voices for the men of Ukraine. Not a single post on Medium (that I could see) even highlighted it as a feminist issue. That's not asking you to pile resources into the issue, but to barely acknowledge it.

And unfortunately, as happened with both the abolition of slavery and with apartheid, attention has to be paid to the needs of both sides. You may not like it - but that's the way out of a problem.

And I disagree, it isn't intellectual nit-picking - it's highlighting a fundamental problem with the feminist movement as currently abandoned by men in their droves. Men perceive it to be entirely centred around the problems of women and aren't prepared to get on board whilst it doesn't demonstrate what it purports to do - equality between the sexes. Nobody asked you to throw aside any other issues - rather I asked why this wasn't included in your ideas of feminism... to which the answer was 'because it's mens problem'. Suggesting, to me at least, you see the problem as one of genital configuration rather than legal equality.

Sure. But Wu Zetian, Empress Cixi, the Sultanate of Women, Maneula Saenz and Nzinga Mbande, Yaa Asantewaa and Queen Nanny can't also be explained away as 'European history'. Each of them are fascinating in their own right - but women have indeed occupied a small place in the history of warfare - often doing it very successfully. They are usually better strategists than the males around them.

WWI and WWII were the biggest wars because of technological advance - and sure, they weren't directly started by women.... but the social shame of women giving men white feathers was a part of conscription in WWI and they don't call me Argumentative Penguin for nothing. Here's a hot-take by a female journalist about the role Queen Victoria (also very prone to starting colonial wars) had in WWI https://www.history.com/news/queen-victoria-grandchildren-matchmaking-wwi

I'm not sure I agree with it btw, but it's good to get an interesting perspective or two.
