There are occasional clues to my age and general identity in my writing - but they're few and far between. Age is simply a measure of how often you've gone round the sun and been given a cake - I frequently read things by people in their sixties and seventies who have no discernible wisdom and well thought through philosophies from the young guns.

That's a great heritage to have - and that's what I love about individual identity vs identity politics. My Grandad (Mum's side) worked in a factory - and my Mum now works in nursing. Same as you with my Dad coming from the big leagues - in this case, the big leagues being both his parents not being born in the same town. That's rare in my neck of the woods. I think we might be the 'people from the villages' your father wasn't keen on! :o)
