There is a difference.... but it's a subtle one. Hispanics are people whose primary language is based in Spanish - whereas Latino are those people from Latin America whose languages may be more widespread. Given most white folks can't tell the difference between Spanish and Portuguese without a decent run up, those other 450 languages don't get much of a look in.

We mostly use Latino, on account of our hispanics being in Spain. ;o)
