There is a strong pathological need in the discourse to avoid negotiation at all cost. Society is not a place for negotiation, it’s a place where niche interest groups shout ‘it’s my way you bastards’ at everyone else, these groups then fracture and continue to get more and more absurd until they’re full Python a la People’s Front of Judea vs Judean People’s Front. It’s one of them main reasons I remain a Penguin. Identity politics, as practiced by the middle class liberal left is an absolute gift for a right wing government. It moves the moderates away from the batshit into the waiting arms of simple demagoguery.
