There's a problem here - I don't think some of those men can choose option 2 - and that's the pervasive nature of capitalism at play and how it permeates through childhood experience. Until we are able to get both men and women to start seeing as an optional tool for self-improvement rather than an absolutist way of being then I think we're stuck. The OP's analysis of Schrodinger's Patriarch was spot on, but she forgot in many cases, the women bringing up Schrodinger's Patriarch contribute to the creation. This isn't an us/them problem it's an us and them problem. Human nature needs to be fundamentally altered to accommodate. :o)
