There's nothing wrong with disagreeing and we can indeed agree to disagree on this one. People can read our back and forth and make their minds up. One of the reasons I don't identify as a feminist (anymore) is that it tends to viewed by many people as a conflict between men and women. In short, you believe feminism should be about understanding that women are victims and you think I am trying to undermine that position and say that men are victims. That is not the case, it may feel like that but it isn't that.
The case I'm making is that feminism has taken a mis-step by primarily operating through a gendered lens as this tends to bring about unresolvable discussions about identity - some friendly (like ours) and some less friendly. It becomes a shouting match along the lines of 'what about the women?', 'the women... what about the men?' - I think using identity to solve problems of injustice is inherently flawed at source, so I am not concerned about who the victims are rather that the legal mechanisms operating to protect them (regardless of their sex) are equitable.
It also pays to read until the end of a comment or article - nobody ever got stupider from reading more. It is often the case that people stop reading when they get to the bit they disagree with, sometimes that's just the title - and I think that's a real shame.
