There’s only a small step between ‘your words are harming me’ and ‘your words are harming the nation state’ and that’s a small bridge to build for a competent demagogue. Words can inspire harmful actions and can be used emotionally abusively in certain circumstances, but I reject entirely the premise that words are in and of themselves inherently harmful.
