They are exactly those sorts of people - but those of us who have been around longer than that understand that Medium formulas are changeable. Sure, if you arrive at the start of a cycle, you can suddenly be bringing home rent money for saying the right thing in the right way at the right time.

But, then Medium changes what it wants to reward because it shifts suddenly those people who were making money aren't making the sort of money they're become accustomed to. If they're smart, they'll adapt and change but mostly their egos kick in and they flounce off the platform because nobody understands their genius.

So it will be with the newest generations of Medium starlets. It's a cycle. Those of us who just write and enjoy the ride will remain and will continue to accrue followers in our little corner of the site. Tis great fun.
