They did indeed. The data on public attitudes was collected as part of a larger Center survey of 5,152 U.S. adults conducted Jan. 18-24, 2023. Presuming 50% of these people were women it’s a sample size of 2.6K in a country of 330 million. It’s ten times a cosmo survey but it ain’t a large enough sample size to draw a firm enough conclusion.
And no, I didn’t say there was such a study, nor did I google one…. It was an anecdotal aside. Note I didn’t ask for people who were ‘meh’ about the subject - I asked for pro-rape men. Find a hundred men you are familiar with, invite them all to the pub and ask them if they’re pro rape. I suspect the answer you get will almost certainly turn out to be no. It’s a problem with sample size, who and how it’s asked.
