They wouldn’t have lasted long for sure. I never understood why (and maybe your military brain will help) why the Germans didn’t go through Ireland.

The British are about as popular as a paedophile in a play pen in Southern Ireland. I’m sure the IRA would’ve collaborated with them if they’d put the feelers out, the Pope took a very laissez-faire approach to Hitler.

If I was going to mount a full invasion of the U.K., I’d definitely do it from Ireland and come down through Scotland. It nearly worked for the Jacobite rebels – and would’ve done if they hadn’t been turned back by misinformation.

Ireland seems like such a logical jumping off point. A bit like when the Japanese went into the east of India…. Let the pissed off local armies do a rebellion and swell your ranks. So why didn’t Hitler do that? And more importantly, what is this civilian software and where can I get some.

Also good to know that bus rides are bumpy and shit wherever you are in the world. :o)
