This article is problematic and demagogic - the poltiical situation in the US is confusing and dangerous, whilst i don't disagree with a lot of what you're saying, positing everything in a 'you're either with us, or you're evil' isn't helpful.

There are a myriad of reasons why people might vote for Trump, there are a whole bunch of reasons why black people might vote for Trump. To label anyone who disagrees with you a dangerous racist is a move straight out of the Trump playbook.

That's the irony of where the online echo chambers are taking us. You will get a lot of support for this article, because it plays into the existing lefty bias on Medium - but that doesn't mean that you should. If the USA is going to try and sort out some of the mess that demagoguery and identity politics has created - it doesn't need more rhetoric and identity politics. It needs careful voices saying sensible things. This article was not careful and the things it says were not sensible... and I say that as someone who fundamentally agrees with much of it.
