This is a great article and thoroughly enjoyable to read - the more human beings move away from our basic needs (those fulfilled by bog standard capitalism) the more we seek enlightenment and to find our own meaning in the world. Most recently that meaning has been found in 'group think' into which both identity politics and 'influencer' mentality neatly fit.

Answers to difficult questions about how the world works and how we should be aren't found in the comfort of other people or the acquisition of stuff. Moreover, giving your life to such things is a sure fire way to fast-track yourself to crippling anxiety, depression or just exhaustion.

I don't know where to look - I just know that collectivised stupidity has never been the answer. Great article.
