This is a really balanced and well written article. Very enjoyable. I’m always ready to be disappointed when I read anything about Peterson, the shouting and vitriolic ad-hominem attacks tend to start early and almost anything he says (whether valid or not) is immediately drowned out by a sea of angry leftists. It’s very frustrating to watch.

That’s why I was so pleasantly surprised to read this all the way through and see his arguments dismantled so professionally. You’ve critiqued him thoroughly and like another commenter I’d love to see you and he debate this at length.

Peterson has a cult following who believe he can do no wrong, and an equal and opposite cult following who believe he can do no right. They’re both equally irritating. The only real response to disagreement is intelligent, fair and intellectually robust critique. In a world that seems to have forgotten how to do nuanced debate — you’ve smashed it and restored my faith in humanity. Thanks for writing :o)
