This is an excellent article on every level - and although we may not agree on the best route to complete that quest for equity, it's definitely spelled out in a concrete way that give people specific things to do rather than just a generalised everything is awful type essay I'm used to reading.
I get battered by the white-woke a lot for my views on identity politics and why it's a retrograde step. The whole thing has become a clusterfuck of people in the creative arts (Theatre) who 'want to make a change' haven't got a clue what they're talking about or which direction they're heading. They just know what to say at the right time to get the right amount of applause from their social circle. All the depth of a car park puddle. Pandering is absolutely bang on for what this represents - and it feels like discussions are moving forward, but nothing is really changing.
To those people I advise doing decade in Social work or Education. Fuck off and learn about equity at the coal face. That's a good grounding from which to explore complex political issues. I'm looking forward to debating with you in the future around various aspects of our differences in thinking. You've got a boatload of insight that I think a lot of writers on this platform lack. :o)
