This is an excellent comment and you're bang on with everything you've said. If you read the two other pieces on abortion you'll get a clearer idea of where I stand on such issues. I am entirely pro-choice but after researching it was very much of the opinion that Roe needed to be overturned at some stage (ideally not now). The US is currently very febrile and this has done little to add stability to an already explosive situation.

The second essay in particular deals with the implications of civil disobedience. Either the US is heading into a civil war or the Roe judgment will have moved the sleepy middle firmly to the democrat side. Only time will tell I guess. It makes me nervous.... Joe Biden feels more and more like James Buchanan with each passing day, same initials, same middle of the ground compromise President, same looming civil conflict. This could get very messy.
